TAPS
101 :
A total change of attitude at your fingertips. There are many things that
set Tige apart from other inboards, but none is more fundamental than our
unique variable-hull technology. While variable-hull trim capability is
nothing new to the I/O crowd, tournament and V-drive inboards have always
been restricted to the severe limits of a fixed hull attitude. Tige changes
all that in 1995 when we introduced the Tige Adjustable Performance System
- TAPS - which allows instant trim adjustment for optimum hull performance
and wake characteristics. While static-hull inboards are locked into a fixed
hull attitude, Tige offers a full range of adjustment for optimum wake characteristics
and performance. That's a big difference between us and the other guys¡Ka
difference that has placed Tige in a class of its own.
Shift on-the-fly Adjustment the effects of TAPS and our advanced Tige hull
are dramatic. A flip of the throttle-mounted TAPS switch allows instant,
shift-on-the-fly adjustment of the hull attitude - from 2 degrees at slalom
speed up to 25 degrees at boarding speed. Wake characteristic lowering the
bow to the more conventional inboard attitude creates a faint slalom wake
while optimizing tracking and forward visibility. Wake characteristic raising
the bow builds wake size for boarding, maximizes fuel economy and minimizes
dB levels. The raised bow attitude also smoothes the chop and delivers a
safe, dry ride for passengers even in severe conditions.
